Individual Lessons
Embarking on one-one lessons with your own golf coach whether it’d be for a single session or a series of sessions allows you to concentrate on the aspects that are most important to you and your game. Our friendly expert PGA Professionals are here to assist you in reaching your peak performance.
Group Lessons
Our group tuition offers courses tailored for both beginners and those looking to improve their golf skills. Group lessons provide a perfect opportunity to learn golf without the pressure, and they offer a fantastic way to benefit from others in a relaxed and sociable setting.
Junior Development Program
The Junior Development Program at Burhill offers the ideal environment for nurturing young talent, from novices to elite junior golfers. We hold regular group coaching for those just getting into golf, whilst for the more experienced we have a full diary of weekend competitions and matches on the course.
Meet the Team
Darren Wood
Head of Golf Operations
Darren joined in 2021, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his 19 years at the prestigious RAC.
In 2011, he became a fully qualified PGA Professional, and now leads the Golf Operations team with a focus on excellence, ensuring members and guests enjoy the best on and off the course. Darren continues to play a key role in upholding Burhill’s reputation as one of Surrey’s finest golfing venues.
Sammy Haywood
Head Assistant PGA Professional
Sammy has been at Burhill his entire working career since leaving school. He first started working with the greenkeeping team including helping at the range. Sammy has recently qualified his PGA Professional Golf Qualification whilst working in the golf operations team and earned employee of the year in 2022. Sammy is a keen Fulham fan following them home and away. You may also see him out running to stay fit & healthy.
Jonathan Bowen
PGA Professional
Jonathan joined Burhill in September 2023 bringing 7 years of experience in the golf industry having worked at the Royal Automobile Club and most recently at Wentworth Club. Jonathan is a fully qualified PGA Professional where he finished Top 10 in his class and enjoys helping improve people’s golf game. In his spare time, Jonathan loves challenging himself where he participates in ironman triathlons.
Morgan Kennedy
PGA Professional
Morgan joined the professional staff at Burhill in 2014, previously to that he spent time competing and teaching in Australia and working at Celtic Manor. Since he joined Burhill he has played a key role in expanding the junior development program. His experiences as a professional golfer, knowledge of the golf swing and background as a specialist club fitter have given him all the tools to help improve all golfers.

Our dedicated short game practice area is the perfect place to fine-tune your touch around the greens. Featuring a well-maintained chipping and pitching zone along with a realistic bunker area, it offers everything you need to master those all-important scoring shots. Whether you’re practicing delicate chips, controlled pitches, or confident bunker escapes, it’s the ideal spot to elevate your game.

Burhill’s driving range combines the best of both worlds, a selection of high-quality outdoor bays and all-weather indoor bays that let you practice in total comfort. Whether you’re working with one of our PGA Professionals or simply enjoying a solo session, you’ll find everything you need to refine your game in style.
Putting
Putting makes all the difference, and at Burhill, you’ll find a first-class area dedicated to mastering it. Our manicured putting green mirrors course conditions, giving you a true-to-play experience as you sharpen your touch, focus, and feel for every putt.
